A Novel Method for Analysis of Cell Signaling in Tissue“SO MANY MARKERS, SO LITTLE TISSUE” |
![]() |
20/20′s novel patented multiplex immunohistochemistry platform (L-IHC) is an innovative service available to drug developers and other researchers. L-IHC allows simultaneous detection of 10+ biomarkers in a single tissue section and is vital to any study in which information content is paramount and tissue supply is limiting. The platform augments investigations in biomarker discovery and development including whole pathway profiling. Our laboratories can support both pre-clinical and translational research. Please contact our Director of Business Development to inquire about customizing L-IHC for your study.
Frustrated by problems with multiplexed analysis of protein markers in tissue?
Multiplexed Layered-IHC Services ADDRESSES ALL OF THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS:
Problem: Need to evaluate 6-8 protein markers in archived tumor tissue from a subject/patient, have access to only 1 or 2 sections (slides) and are frustrated with problems with simultaneous as well as sequential staining of same section.
Problem: Need to evaluate 6-8 markers in tumor tissue using painstakingly created Tissue Microarray (TMA) that is almost depleted allowing use of only 1-2 slides.
Problem: Need to evaluate 6-8 markers in tumor tissue and there is concern about tumor micro-heterogeniety in expression resulting in variability even in adjacent sections.
Problem: Probing of same section with total protein Antibody and corresponding Anti-Phospho protein Antibody doesn’t work.
Problem: Use of multiple antibodies on the same tissue section raises a conflict over antigen retrieval/unmasking methods.
Problem: Would really prefer to use the same Antibody for IHC that was used for western blot.
ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS CAN BE SOLVED BY L-IHC FROM 20/20 GENESYSTEMS

L-IHC Advantages
- Cost-effective multiplex process gives 5-10x information content from high-value specimens (such as tissue microarrays with associated patient histories and outcomes).
- Flexibly determines protein expression & many protein modifications.
- Quantitative fluorescence data allow for continous-scale measurement in tissue images.
- Advanced multifactor analysis can quantify & correlate complex relationships in cell signaling pathways.
- User-tailored: User customizable antibody panels can often include antibodies not useable in standard IHC.
- Compatible: Use routinely prepared specimens & TMAs with available antibodies (FFPE or frozen).
Accelerating Molecular Pathology Analysis
- Personalized Medicine: Companion Diagnostics & Prognostics.
- Discovery/preclinical studies: Correlate potential biomarkers to drug effects and establish surrogate endpoints.
- Clinical Translational studies: Pathway Profiling & Prognostic Target/Biomarker discovery.
- Pathology Laboratory: Seeking to develop future partnerships for clinical patient testing.
