Applications for Life Science Research

Layered Gene Scanning (LGS) uses proprietary membranes (Protein Function Identification Layered Membranes, or P-FILM) to capture proteins. In place of a single conventional (e.g., PVDF or nitrocellulose) membrane, proteins and other biomolecules are transferred to a stack of layered membranes.  The membranes developed for life science research are designed so that each membrane in a stack captures a fraction of all of the protein, RNA and DNA in the sample. Each membrane can therefore be analyzed with a probe specific for a target molecule.  The Technology section of our website describes LGS in more detail.  20/20 GeneSystems is developing an array of applications of Layered Membranes. Currently there are applications for 1-D protein gels, multi-well plates, RNA gels and tissue.

Please see the references describing the use of layered membrane technology. We invite you to contact us so that we can discuss the format of the membranes that will best suit your particular use.
