20/20 GeneSystems, Inc. uses protein and peptide arrays for the identification and validation of multiple biomarkers in blood and tissue samples.   The biomarkers so identified are used in novel diagnostics for both early disease detection and selection of optimum therapies.  The company has two unique, proprietary multiplex technology platforms that it utilizes: (1) Layered Peptide Arrays and (2) Phage-Protein Arrays.

       Layered Peptide Arrays

20/20's patented Layered Peptide Arrays (also known as “Layered Expression Scanning”) utilize specially constructed thin-film bioaffinity (“smart”) membranes that are stacked and applied to various 2-D samples such as tissue sections, multi-well plates, and electrophoresis gels. An extensive number of publications detail the application of this technology. These arrays permits multiple proteins to be identified in tumors and other tissues while maintaining the shape and morphology of the tissue.  More about Layered Peptide Arrays

     Phage-Protein Arrays

20/20 scientists have unique know-how and expertise in an emerging technique that has proven effective in measuring multiple antibodies simultaneously so as to permit excellent discrimination between blood samples from cancer patients and healthy controls.  As illustrated in published references and in this Figure., several hundred phage expressed proteins selected from high-throughput screening are spotted onto glass slides in an array fashion.  The array is then applied to patient plasma so as to permit the measurement of multiple autoantibodies in parallel.    More about Phage-Protein Arrays
