20/20 Platform Technologies
Home : Publications : Technology20/20 GeneSystems, Inc. uses protein and peptide arrays for the identification and validation of multiple biomarkers in blood and tissue samples. The biomarkers so identified are used in novel diagnostics for both early disease detection and selection of optimum therapies. The company has two unique, proprietary multiplex technology platforms that it utilizes: (1) Layered Immunohistochemistry (L-IHC) and (2) Phage-Protein Arrays. View an animated presentation of 20/20's layered technology. L-IHC : Unified staining and tissue imaging of panels of protein biomarkers "Layered Immuno-histochemistry” (L- IHC) meets a critical need of 21st century medicine. The applications center on the capability to locate and measure 10 or more protein biomarkers in a single thin section cut from a tumor. Layered IHC unifies and streamlines the usually complex process of performing many immuno-staining reactions on separate tissue sections. Ten or more diagnostic tests are performed at once, providing a set of images of many biomarkers in an identical cellular context. This advanced format will enable the rapid development of several key types of applications in the field of molecular medicine. Please view the animation for a narrated process description. 20/20 invites inquiries about the development of new applications.
Phage-Protein Arrays 20/20 scientists have unique know-how and expertise in an emerging technique that has proven effective in measuring multiple antibodies simultaneously so as to permit excellent discrimination between blood samples from cancer patients and healthy controls. As illustrated in published references and in this Figure., several hundred phage expressed proteins selected from high-throughput screening are spotted onto glass slides in an array fashion. The array is then applied to patient plasma so as to permit the measurement of multiple autoantibodies in parallel. More about Phage-Protein Arrays |
